Buying a mattress that is too small for your needs can really impact your ability to get a good nights sleep.  This is particularly true if you sleep with a partner.  Here are the 5 factors you should consider when choosing the right mattress size.

  1. What size is your frame – If you have an existing frame for your mattress then you need to choose a mattress size that will fit the frame.
  2. What size was your last mattress – If you slept well on your last mattress, and nothing has changed in terms of a partner, then you should probably not go down in size from your last mattress.
  3. What size is your room – If you don’t have an existing frame then you should carefully measure out various mattress size options and make sure that the mattress will fit the room dimensions.
  4. Bigger is better – In general you want to make sure you have plenty of room in case you tend to move in your sleep or your partner moves in their sleep.
  5. Standard is better – You will find better sales on standard size mattresses like a King as compared to a less standard size like a California King because there is more competition to sell the standard sizes.
